AttMap -  This program creates a attribute map from a drawing then lets you apply the attribute map to as many drawings as you want.

About:

Directions:

The program starts by displaying the following dialog box:

attmap01.jpg (11326 bytes)

Begin the attribute mapping process by selecting the "Build an Attribute Map" button.  The application will prompt for you to select the source drawing that has the attribute values set properly:

attmap02.jpg (44756 bytes)

Then lets you select a typical destination drawing.  (A drawing with attributes set incorrectly.)  This process is exactly the same at the one used above.  Next the application pulls up the Attribute Map Builder dialog box:

First select the attribute from the source drawing, then:

Select the attribute to map to in the destination drawing.  Press the "ADD" button to add it to the map.  The two selected attributes will dissappear from the list:

Continue this process until you get all of the attributes you want mapped.   Then press the "OKAY" button.  You will be prompted to save the attribute map to a file:

When the file is saved you will see the prompt below:

Start the AttMap program again and select "Run the ATTMAP Program" button:

A dialog box will appear for you to select all of the drawings to apply the map to:

attmap09.jpg (42646 bytes)

Select all the drawings and press the "OKAY" button.  Then the program will prompt for the name of the map to use on these drawings.  Select a map and press the "Open" button.

attmap10.jpg (29562 bytes)

The program will write a script file and prompt you when it is ready to run:

attmap11.jpg (4825 bytes)

When you press the "OK" button, the program will open each destination drawing, apply the attribute map, and save the drawing.  Although I don't know of any bugs in the program, please make a copy of the drawings before running the program.
