ShareWare/FreeWare

ShareWare

The ShareWare portion of the site has four programs so far, TraceIt, JPSpyder, VDirSize, and PrintDir. These programs can be found on this site as well as these three popular download sites. (When available):

TraceIt is a visual trace route utility that shows your route on a United States Map as you travel through servers on the internet in real time. As well as being a useful utility, it's also fun. Use it to find out where sites are located. Such as BritneySpears.com, Cocacola.com, Alaska.gov, etc.

VDirSize is a directory size viewer that allows you to see the sizes of all of the subdirectories side by side. It is quite useful for Network Administrators. The size shown includes all files and directories under each subdirectory. VDirSize Version 2.0.0 (Bug with Windows 98 Fixed!)

JPSpyder searches through web sites for email addresses and puts them in a list. Allows you to save the list to a text file.

PrintDir simply prints a directory list. Prints sorted by name of file. Allows you to print the filename with or without the filesize or date.

Version 3.0 allows long file names and is resizable!

Version 4.0 allows writing file names or directory names to a text file!

Version 4.0.1 fixed the problem with removable storage by forcing an update before printing.

FreeWare

Ping.exe is a simple visual basic Ping utility.

MyWebSites.exe is a program to monitor your web sites. This program is on a timer that pings multiple web sites and displays the results in a list. It will also alarm you on success or failures.

FPC.exe is a program to rename multiple files by using a PATTERN to find the files. You also use a PATTERN to rename the files. Very handy for renaming files.

AutoLisp

Games - Tic Tac Toe, Hangman, Mines, Battleship, working on Bridges! Games to play inside AutoCAD with a quick-out feature. All work and no play makes....

AttMap - Attribute mapping system.

Cad2File - This program allows you to send the properties of entities in a drawing to an Excel file, comma delimited text file, space delimited text file, or a tab delimited text file. You select the type of entity, type of file to create and then select the properties you want to send to the file.

These properties include Name, Value, Tag, Layer Name, Text Value, Color, Style, Insertion Point, Radius/Height, Start/Center Point, End Point, Diameter/Width, Vertex/Control Points, Line Type, Major Axis, Minor Axis, and Rotation/Angle.

Num - This program creates numbers for charts etc. This program was originally a request from a visitor and now is available for free to everyone. The program creates incremental numbers horizontally or vertically. You have options on: Starting number, ending number, increment, rotation, oblique angle, text style, text size, and justification. If you can find anything missing in this program....please let me know. This was an attempt to solve the entire number chart problem.

OverLapF - This program finds over lapping lines. You have the option to fix the over lapping lines or mark them with an ellipse. I've used this program to simply reduce file size. You would not believe the number of over lapping lines this program will find.

Formerly RemDup.

AlgaCAD - Where Algebra meets AutoCAD. Relax! You do the CAD and I'll do the Algebra. This program fills in variable names inside an AutoCAD drawing. You create the drawing and then let AlgaCAD help you write the code by answering a few questions. Very little to no AutoLisp experience required. You create the drawing file or template as you wish. Insert variable names as text entities and/or attribute entities. Then you load AlgaCAD and let it help you write the code to make the variables equal whatever you want.

Programs Created for free. Take a look at some programs created from visitors ideas. For Free! (Work in progress)

Free Programs. The biggest programs listed here are the MakeLSP cogenerators for AutoCAD R12, R14, and 2000. These programs will write AutoLisp programs for you. Simply answer a few questions and your done. They run inside AutoCAD and are written entirely in AutoLisp. When you download them you will have full access to the source code and are welcome to modify as you please. This does not authorize you to sell these programs without my consent, even after modifying them. They are still copyrighted material. Please read the MakeLSP tutorial before running the programs please.

Axcel - This program draws an Excel spreadsheet inside AutoCAD. You select the Excel file, the AutoCAD drawing, and press the RUN button. This is for simple spreadsheets and release 14 only.

AxcelPts - This program gets x and y coordinates from an Excel spreadsheet and draws tiny circles representing the points inside AutoCAD. You select the Excel file, the data file location, and press the RUN button. The spreadsheet must contain two rows with multiple columns. Note: AxcelPts will skip the first row in the Excel file.

Java

Java? Yes. Sort of. During the big wave of the new child Java, I bailed in and wrote a few applets. This is the result of that. Some are pretty lame while others are ...well....really bad. Feel free to try them out.

Microsoft did not help the life of these programs, with their modifications of the Java language in their browsers. I'm not sure what they look like now in NetScape's browser. Hopefully better than Microsoft's. Let me know.

One program to check out in this area is the LukeOut applet. This took a while to develop.
